Erogenesis has returned with the follow-up to his first title (Weapons Handling for Fantasy artists) this title represents a bigger and more elaborate outing for his heroine Lali. Erogenesis’s work has caused something of a debate amongst the staff here at affect3d and has attracted some very strong opinions in reader responses, why you might ask? Read on to find out
Format
This image series is an 85-page .PDF. Each page contains up to several image panels complete with speech bubbles and onomatopoeic text, and will be instantly recognizable and readable to any comic book fan.
The Girl
The heroine of this series (Lali) is almost unique in the world of 3d erotic art in the sense that she is NOT a drop-dead gorgeous bombshell with a beyond perfect body. This deliberate decision on the part of the artist has resulted in Lali being very girl next door in appearance. Lalis face won’t win any beauty pageants but is somewhat cute from a few angles, and she does a nice realistically shaped body.
Design
Erogenesis has really only just started as an artist, and the relative newcomer status shows in the finished product, everything, from the characters to the background environments has a rough unpolished look. While no specific element has jagged edges, obvious errors or similar drawbacks, it nonetheless lacks the smooth, highly detailed professional look that a lot of other artist have in similar works, The men are varied enough to suit their purposes, from background office staff to Russian spies, they don’t give the reader a sense of “hey that’s the same guy from the other place except now he has a beard” and none look out of place as they go about their business. I have no doubt the artist will improve over time, but as things stand currently, a lot more work is needed.
Variety
A real attempt has been made here to create a self-contained comic book world inhabited by a variety of characters in various settings. Lots of different facial expressions amongst the characters help to drive the story along and show what each character is thinking at any given moment. The posing and viewpoint of each picture varies a great deal and isn’t repetitive at all, and use of motion blur when the characters are in fast-paced action is a great artistic touch.
Sex Scenes
Sex is not the main focus of this comic and when it comes, it is almost purely plot-driven (including one humorous scene where Lali has to strip a gun before her boss cums). It’s all very tame stuff, mostly variations of missionary and doggystyle with some submissive blowjob action thrown in for good measure, but does suit the overall mood of the comic.
Overall Impressions
This title is certainly not for everyone. Some may find it refreshing while others my hate it. Erogenesis show promise as an artist, but his focus and personal taste may be off-putting to some readers. Basically, if you want to read an adult comic with a relatively well-conceived tongue-in-cheek storyline that contains some plot driven depictions of sex, then you may find this title interesting. If, on the other hand you are used to seeing beautiful, sexy women in 3dx involved in wall to wall no-holes barred hardcore then you should stay well clear of this title
