Today marks the first video of Affect3D’s 3DX Tutorial Series! We’ll show inexperienced and aspiring artists how to start in the world of 3DX. No piece of 3D software is so difficult that you must know what every single button does the first time you use it. Still, all of these elements can make you feel lost and overwhelmed. “Removing static” is a fundamental skill for any software-related hobby or profession. That’s why made these videos: To help you become an effective 3DX artist! This first episode is an introduction to Daz Studio, the most popular and affordable 3D posing program.
This month’s episode covers the very basics of working with Daz Studio; from what the software looks like the first time you open it up, to the ideal interface for a beginner to start with. We’ll teach you which panels do what, then show you how to move elements from the interface around. This will help you create an interface in which it’s easy to find the things you need. At the same time, you’ll also have a structure to design a complicated scene. We will also load our first figure into the scene, and in so doing set the stage for the next episode. We hope you find our first 3DX tutorial educational and inspiring!

March 12, 2021Hello,
I just found this site and tutorial series in March 2021. I want to make 3D porn. I have been learning DAZ for about 2 years now and I am working with the Genesis 3 Figures because my computer can only handle the 3Delight materials (the Iray System is more than it can handle) So, I just watched the Affected3D Posing Tutorial for DAZ Studio and I saw a Genesis 3 Female was used as example, then I thought maybe I can do some porn if I follow these tutorials. I pretty much know how to create, dress up and pose characters in DAZ, been working especially on transgender characters for my stories. I would like to learn how to animate my characters next so I will be watching the next videos in this series.

May 27, 2018This is a wonderful tutorial! I greatly appreciate the time and effort that you put in to making this series.
One question though, at the 3:54 mark you mention “we’ll be using one of the custom models from TheDude’s scenes” – where can I obtain one of those scene files? Is it included with one of your packages and I’m just missing it? I’ve checked your blog, your Renderotica page, your Affect3D store page, scanned through what’s included with each package, and it seems like they are just images (beautiful images at that!).
It’s probably obvious, and I’m just missing it – I tend to do that when distracted by fascinating images… any help would be appreciated. Thanks again for providing these amazing tutorials.

August 27, 2016I use Studio along with Powerpoint to make dirty animations for my wife to enjoy. It’s fun to use, but can become an expensive habit quick, as new clothing, models, poses or characters can be pricey. I recommend visiting DAZs website, but also try http://www.renderosity.com, http://www.runtimedna.com and http://www.renderotica.com for all your needs. Sometimes they have good sales or, if you can afford it, get the Prime membership and you can get some good items for fairly cheap, after paying the initial Prime cost. I’m quite the novice compared to the artists here, but it works well enough to get the wife’s motor running.

August 23, 2016Hello Dude. Or TheDude. Whatever you like to be called, I would really like to get into this line or work, or maybe just as a hobby, depending on how I do. If you could please jot down my email and send me one at your earliest convenience, I would love to ask you a few questions about your work.
Thanks, and have a nice day

August 16, 2016@criuion The city limits work space is still there to get it. Go to window – workspace – select layout. Then click the layout drop down in the right hand corner and select city limits or what ever layout you prefer.
Great video looking forward to more.

August 13, 2016Hi, are you aware that DAZ Studio 4.9 Doesn’t appear to have a “City Limits” layout.
