Howdy, andi guinness here! I hope you are all doing wonderful. As you may recall, last year we joined forces with the #3DX Discord for a fun Halloween collaboration that provided many tricks and some treats! And all for a good cause: We raised nearly $4500 for the American Kidney Fund!
Now, we’re back with a new season, a new theme, and a new charity!
Introducing the Affect3D/#3DX Spring Collaboration!
(Uh…we still haven’t figured out a title yet)
This will be, once again, a series of sets from artists within the 3DX community, which will be released later this spring. For this collaboration, we let artists and fans decide on the theme, and this came out the winner:
That’s right, some heroes don’t wear capes. Some don’t wear anything at all. How they fight crime is a mystery to us all.
Regardless, this will be a superhero-themed series of sets. It will not only go POW!, but also SPROING! as various heroes and villains fight against each other, with the city (and their libidos) on the line.
Of course, we do not want Stan Lee’s army of hamster lawyers to cease-and-desist us into oblivion. So we added a challenge to all of our artists who sign up:
Create Your Own Superhero(es)!
That’s right. No Wonder Women, No Mercs-With-A-Mouth. I’d also advise fusing those two characters together, if only because it would look silly, and Amalgam Comics would sue us. But artists are expected to create their own, original superhero (or supervillain, we won’t prejudice) with their own superpowers. It’s a great opportunity for artists to flex their creative muscle! Given the vast array superpowers and sexy powers out there…the world’s your radioactive spider. Or kryptonite. Your call.
All proceeds will benefit Doctors Without Borders/Médecins sans frontières!
Further proof that not all heroes wear capes. Doctors Without Borders/Médecins sans frontières is a leading international organization dedicated to providing medical help in places where it is needed most – in areas with armed conflicts, epidemics, natural disasters, and other crisis situations. They are active in more than 60 countries around the world with rapid-response emergency services, as well as long-term projects to help those who lack adequate access to health care. MSF/DWB’s services are independent and impartial, seeking only to aid people that need it most. They are the real heroes.
