It’s rare that, as a reviewer, I want to say nothing about a product. Other than being part of the job, I have a lot of opinions. But this is one of those few cases where I want to spoil as little as possible. The latest release from GonzoStudios’ recent line of Lovecraftian erotic horror covers the first part of The Call of Cthulhu. An absolute horror classic, Gonzo has given it the tentacle sex treatment while working to keep intact as much of the original horror as possible.
The mysteries of R’lyeh unfold, along with the horror of dreaming visitations and nameless things. Gonzo strikes a lovely balance between the tentacled sex and mysterious terrors, which just has me excited to see the next installment.
An oft-unread tale, despite its popularity in pop culture, you can read the original here. As Gonzo’s first installment here only covers the first section, The Horror In Clay, I wouldn’t read any further yet – no spoilers!
I’m not sure whether I’d read the tale first, or enjoy Gonzo’s erotica first. So hard to choose. But clearly, both are in order. For now, you can get Gonzo’s 76-page The Call of Cthulhu comic for only $9.99 – practically a steal for such high-quality erotica – and figure out the order as you see fit.
