If you see this post it means the move was successful ๐ Hopefully it’s a little faster then before, let me know if you experiencing any troubles at all. Happy with the new host so far, the move went pretty smoothly as well. (*** of course the second I wrote these words I started to have teething problems, but hopefully these are resolved now!)
And here’s the stereoscopic image I posted during the mainteance phase. There are two versions, one is for use with 3D glasses the other you need vision glasses for apparently. The way these images work is that both images were taken from slightly different angles to immitate the differnt viewing angles from both the left and right eye.
You can make this work by crossing your eyes as well, but I just get a headache if I do it. You have to keep trying apparently. Let me know if it works and I’ll post a couple more interesting poses with depth effects =)
Here’s the anaglyph one. You’ll need the red and blue 3D glasses, they’re easy enough to make yourself. Click on the image for the big version!
Here is the stereoscopic one, this should work with Nvidia 3D Vision for those lucky enough to have it or stereo glasses. You can also try crossing your eyes, but if you have it full screen I think you need to be far enough away from the monitor to get the right effect. Click on the image for the big version. Let me know if it worked for you! And thanks to Pedro for help setting these up!
Ok I almost got this one to work without glasses. Try clicking on the image to make it full screen, then from about 2 feet away cross your eyes more and more until it becomes sharp. Hope you’re not afraid of big boobies though, cause if you get it right they’ll be popping right in your face =) It’s still a bit blurry for me though, hopefully you’ll have more luck!

October 4, 2011OH MY GOODNESS! I got it! I went back further and it was CRYSTAL clear! I’m talking about the stereo image. I think my eyes can’t do it if it’s too close. It worked better for me when I moved away. It even worked when I was 3 meters away. The image does not pop out like I expected. Instead, the 2 images just created one very cool looking one in the middle. But I think I did it right. I use a 23 inch monitor so I could have stood further.

October 3, 2011I think you have your channels reversed. Flipping the image left to right really brought out the 3d for me.

October 3, 2011Well, that could be an issue. But I tried that and still blurry for me, obviously not cross eyeing correctly =)

October 3, 2011Maybe the distance you view it plays a part too. You could try moving closer/further etc.

October 3, 2011Well I went as far back as wall might try making the image smaller instead. maybe ill have more luck. With actual 3d glasses.

October 3, 2011great idea

October 2, 2011Nice and about that image… You should do one instead of her sticking out her boobs to your or something. Much better than a hand, but hey it’s your choice. lol ๐

October 2, 2011Well just to get some depth effect happening…. but you know what boobies might just do the trick… boobies it is then, I’ll make it wide angle so I can zoom in more.

October 2, 2011Oh, btw the 3DS does read JPG, but 3D images have to be in a .mpo format.
Here’s the converter I used to convert the JPG you posted.

October 2, 2011Thanks for that apparently you can also use that program to convert to anaglyph and such, all kinds of 3D format, so def check it out.
I’ll post a link later where you can get free 3D glasses in the US.

October 2, 2011Hey, I actually just tried it out. It works pretty well I guess. It really depends on the two images. All I did was cut the stereoscopic picture down the middle and used a program to combine the two into an .mpo file for the 3DS to read.
Worked perfectly. The 3D was subtle. I guess that depends more on the two images if you want it to pop out more.

October 2, 2011Yes, I’ll be posting an image later today with more depth elements, like Ayako reaching out or somthing, should make it more interesting!
Good that it worked for you, though!

October 2, 2011lol You know what you should try out to make a file that the 3DS can read. That’d be awesome!

October 2, 2011The Ninentendo 3DS? It doesn’t read jpgs then? What sort of files does it read?

October 2, 2011It’s always blurry for me when I view cross-eye stereo grams. But I can see it. It’s just that it doesn’t pop out of the screen much.

October 2, 2011Same thing happens for me, but I’ve actually made it work for other stereo images like on youtube, maybe I’ve rendered the angles too far apart, I’ll try one a little closer together… or need to move futher back from the screen.
