Do you ever get tired of watching sexy people do sexy things to one another? At some point the genders, couplings, sex acts and body positions run out. That’s where erotica involving non-human monsters comes in, and it’s a fetish with centuries-old roots.
Think of the lovely young blonde Lucy, seduced, ravished, and eventually corrupted by the original vampire, Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Or the smoldering, age-defying romance between the ethereally beautiful elf, Arwen Evenstar, and the human ranger Aragorn II from the Tolkien universe. And just what do those aliens – typically portrayed as “grays” – do to sexy female abductees on their spaceships? After the cold, metallic anal probes have done their work, perhaps there’s additional intimate infiltration by meaty alien members.
In this month’s edition of What’s Your Fetish, we’ll explore why monster erotica has remained popular for so long in all of its incarnations. We’ll also look at how 3DX has allowed this niche to flourish and reach a much wider audience.
Monster Appeal
For the purposes of this column, the term “monsters” refers to humanoid monsters, and not things like tentacle creatures or eldritch entities. In fact, there is some controversy over monster erotica being a variant of bestiality, which is illegal in most countries.
Our definition of monsters for sexual purposes refers to beings that, while not human, are sentient. They are intelligent beings in control of their behavior. Often, monster erotica involves some element of non-consensual sex from the human involved. However, it’s typically a trope in which the human (often female), starts out objecting, then gives in to lust and becomes a willing participant. For example, an ogre ambushes an elven huntress who was stalking him, and forces himself on her. At first, she resists, but becomes overwhelmed with desire at his swarthy, throbbing member. Passionate monster sex ensues, and everyone goes home happy and sated. More recently, monster sex is portrayed as fully consensual, even sought after.
We’ve talked about monsters offering more variety – that essential spice of life – to porn. But is there more to it? What’s the appeal of monsters in particular? I’ll venture to suggest that the reasons are numerous based on the type of monster. Big burly male orcs and ogres gangbanging a female serves much the same fantasy as any number of big men gangbanging a female. It’s about being bigger, better, more extreme. But if you take creatures such as demons, goblins, or aliens, we often depict them as frightening. It’s about taking extreme sex to ever-greater and more exotic heights, and often involves women submitting to a frightening, dominating force. Other examples flip the gender roles, as we’ll see in our discussion of monster porn in 3DX titles.
3DX: A Monster’s Medium
Perhaps no other niche better fits 3DX than monster porn. There are no physical costumes or makeup to worry about: creatures are rendered out of whole cloth, along with sets and effects.
Consider a project like Bloodlust: Cerene, one of the most ambitious projects hosted at Affect3D. “Bloodlust Cerene” is a very modern incarnation of the sensual vampire genre that reverses the gender roles. The titular vampire Cerene is a seductive, buxom, queenly blonde, attractive to all genders (she will be sprouting a cock in the upcoming DLC). Her predatory sexual wantonness is tinged with overt villainy, but apart from that she’s a world apart from the cunning, aristocratic masculinity of Count Dracula.
Nor is monster porn always featuring monster-on-human copulation. In Cleric Chiana: Beach Day Part V, the drow cleric Chiana fucks a humanoid snake cultist (see featured image). Not to be outdone, Knight Elayne takes on two humanoid lizards in the same series (seen in Part I). It’s a bravura display of colors and textures on sex organs that you won’t often see.
Finally, I can’t not mention Monster Ball, in which our brave female protagonist Anna finds herself in a realm full of monsters. They are all humanoid, sport sizeable schlongs, and require her to copulate on pain of death. The spectacle of this sexy brunette being used by all manner of creatures is arousing out of the sheer diversity.
When you compare this with live-action counterparts, such as Hustler’s This Ain’t Star Trek XXX: The Butterfly Effect, it’s hard to take the latter seriously. Kimberly Kane, a well-regarded pornstar famous for portraying Dana Scully in Digital Sin’s X-Files porn parody, plays a butterfly alien. She’s hot, but her costume is laughable. Unless there’s massive creature budget, live-action porn just can’t create believable monsters that feed the fetish. It just looks like bad Halloween costumes on pornstars, which can be hot on its own, but that doesn’t make it monster erotica.
Conclusion
Monsters run the gamut, from medieval-era fantasy creatures to those inspired by science fiction and international myth. Monster erotica adds an unlimited amount of variety to porn, and ensures that 3DX in particular will never get stale. If there is any porn genre in which 3DX has already eclipsed live-action products in both quality and imagination, monster erotica is it.
Writer’s Note: What’s Your Fetish Takes a Sabbatical
I usually include a poll about the fetish topic discussed at the end of each edition of What’s Your Fetish, but not this time. That’s because this will be the last edition of What’s Your Fetish for a while. There are two reasons for this: first, I am traveling abroad in August and September, and second, Affect3D.com is making some temporary changes to its editorial strategy.
So consider this column on sabbatical – there’s no firm date for a return, but there is no limit to the titillating perversions left for us to explore here. In the meantime, keep exploring your fantasies, stay engaged with Affect3D’s highly active community, and be well.
Cheers,

July 10, 2017Garrett,
That was a great article!
Monster based 3DX is the reason I am interested in 3DX at all. I appreciate all types but nothing is quite as intriguing as Monster Porn.
For me, it all boils down the vast difference between the male and female characters that can’t exist with real humans.
A) There are some gorgeous women in the real world, but generally speaking the best 3DX artists create perfect female goddesses that are quite literally crafted as the ideal sex toy. So real porn can’t typically match that.
B) The males are just a no brainer…if I’m going to watch a male fuck a girl that I wish I was fucking….it might as well be something I can only imagine. For those females to be so physically amazing, it would be weird to see an average man with them, it would be underwhelming.
Ultimately, there is something very enticing about a humanoid type creature that has enough in common with myself to be relatable but taken to the extreme.
Lastly, speaking of extreme. when it’s fictional and fantasy, I want the male to have an extreme cock (to a degree, definitely too much at times). But I genuinely enjoy seeing a perfect female fucked by a massive cock that is probably just a little bigger and longer than she could probably actually handle in real life. In porn of all kinds, I want to see the female satisfied, I watch porn to see women afterall, so if she doesn’t get off, its not as fun. It’s hot to see a female that is out of my league fucked senseless my a creature with skills out of my league or to see a female forced to take dick from a monster she is intimidated by but the tables turn when she is fucked so well that she flips from being scared to begging for more.
Its imply something that can’t happen any other way.

July 10, 2017Wonderful read. Monsters are exceptionally enjoyable in 3DX porn. As an artist, it allows a ton of flexibility in how you build scenes and how your characters are getting fucked. As a consumer, it incites a kind of primal excitement that goes with the sex scene.
