Ah, Overwatch. Released on May 23, 2016, Blizzard’s newest game continues to gain popularity among both the gaming and 3DX scene. Surprisingly enough, the first documentation of Overwatch 3DX porn surfaced 6 months before the game’s initial release. Having characters sporting latex getups paired with in your face attitudes is the perfect recipe for creating sultry 3DX. The evidence is in abundance between the GIFs, shorts and full length animations. If you want to read more on Overwatch and its initial explosion into the 3DX scene check out Shad’s essay.
Now, while Overwatch is today’s subject, the main focus shall be on Lena Oxton, or as everyone calls her, Tracer. The woman who wields two pulse pistols, energy-based time bombs and can control her own time. Over the holidays we learned some new information about Tracer that took the 3DX world by storm.
A Little Backstory
Tracer is a former Overwatch agent inducted to participate in an experimental flight program. During the first flight test for the Slipstream the teleportation matrix malfunctioned and the Slipstream along with Tracer disappeared. She reappeared months later, but something was very off. Tracer suffered from “chronal disassociation.” She became a living ghost, disappearing for hours or even days at a time. During the brief moments of being present, she wasn’t able to maintain her physical form. All hope was lost until a scientist named Winston designed the chronal accelerator. Not only was he able to keep Tracer in the present, she now had the ability to control her own time.
Tracer is kind of a special case when it comes to Overwatch. She’s become a mascot of the franchise. She’s fun yet courageous. An all-around likeable character. Fans have taken different characteristics of Tracer and depict her in their own way. Some show her as very carefree, some make her out to be…a little on the dense side. Then there are some who only focus on her rivalry with Widowmaker. The variations of Tracer span from being innocent to rather serious in terms of who she is and her story. However, there is a little something for everyone, even in the 3DX scene.
The Original Overwatch (Porn) Icon
While Tracer’s backstory may not play a big part in 3DX, her quirks and relationships with other characters definitely take center stage. Aside from the overflowing material of Overwatch porn as a whole, Tracer is in a good deal of it. The first documented 3DX Overwatch porn is actually of Tracer on all fours receiving anal. Pornhub alone has a multitude of videos of Tracer in an array of positions. Doggy style, reverse cowgirl, giving blow jobs, and how can we forget all the wonderful back shots of her ass.
It was also the focal point of Overwatch’s first major controversy. Every character in the game has their own victory pose. Tracer’s original pose was “over the shoulder,” her backside facing the player, ass in full view. That raised a lot of outrage within the community for what many took to be implicit sexism. One user, Fipps, noted in the Overwatch forum that
It’s not fun, it’s not silly, it has nothing to do with being a fast elite killer. It just reduces Tracer to another bland female sex symbol.
They further argued that since her character isn’t defined by showing off her sexuality, then her pose shouldn’t reflect such. Tracer’s pose has since changed to a more “accurate” representation of who she is.

Popularity Among the Masses
While her ass may no longer be the focal point in her posing, there is much appreciation for it in 3DX. It’s so much the case that Tracer was the top-searched Overwatch character on Pornhub in 2016. They recently released data on Overwatch porn and aside from it outranking ‘anal’ on Pornhub’s top 20 search terms of 2016, they noted that Tracer is the most popular among any searches regarding Overwatch.
There isn’t a fantasy that goes unnoticed. Among all of the throbbing cocks that Tracer encounters, people really seem to like her being all over Widowmaker…and her cock. A recurring theme is of Tracer being submissive to Widowmaker and taking her thick cock however she sees fits. It makes for an interesting dynamic especially since they’re rivals in the game. For those who are about the sexual depictions of them, there is plenty material to choose from.
What Everyone Expects (Or Not)
Speaking of girl-on-girl action, the Overwatch Christmas comic made quite the explosion in both the gaming and 3DX communities in terms of what it revealed. The comic, released a few days before Christmas, shows Tracer frantically running around London trying to snag a gift for her significant other. She ends up receiving a gift from a little girl in the city after having no luck getting something on her own. Upon returning home, her significant other grabs the gift assuming it was for her. Before Tracer could say anything the gift is opened. Tracer is then embraced by a hug and a kiss from her girlfriend. That’s right. Overwatch’s Tracer is queer.
While many speculated about Tracer’s sexuality (most thought she was bisexual), Blizzard confirmed that Tracer is indeed a lesbian. The internet exploded with the news and overall the response was overwhelmingly positive. In an article from Kotaku, many staff members weighed in on their thoughts about Tracer. Blizzard sent them their own thoughts on her sexuality, saying “it just felt right to make this an aspect of her character.”
For the most part, people felt having a queer character will open the door to even more variety with Overwatch. It could also possibly influence other games to do the same.
Going a Little Queer
While Tracer has come out about her sexuality, this has been a theme among female video game characters in 3DX. A perfect example would be Tracer and her relationship with Widowmaker. Before the news of Tracer coming out – whenever you looked her up more often than not she was Widowmakers submissive. Many 3DX artists played on their rivalry and turned it into a Dom/Sub fetish. There are examples of Tracer being with other female characters; however, her and Widowmaker make up a majority of the animations that you see.
Aside from the usual sexual encounters with their respective male counterparts – you see these female characters portrayed as lesbians. This isn’t to say that there is an issue with this but rather it begs the question of why. This theme in particular is steadily rising in terms of popularity and with beautiful female leads surfacing like clockwork it isn’t going anywhere.
Between the news about Tracer and recurring themes among female leads, Overwatch influenced 3DX artists and the community overall. Many show interest in the overall art style of Overwatch. It’s flashy, the female characters are in latex, they have unique personality traits and their dominating yet sultry attitudes gives 3DX artists all kinds of inspiration. The Christmas comic; however, has opened the door to the scene maturing. It’s often a novel strategy to use a character’s personal aspects in the porn. Playing on specific personality traits or interests creates a special dynamic in 3DX. It brings variety into the usual sexual encounters that we see. By delving more into the characters and what they’re about the possibilities of creating more mature 3DX content can bring in even more people into the community.
Conclusion
Overwatch has made quite the impression since its initial release. Between its unique art style and quirky characters, people from both the gaming and 3DX communities were intrigued. Blizzard unknowingly opened the floodgates to erotic inspiration with their characters and it took the 3DX world by storm. Upon the overwhelming amount of GIF’s, shorts, and full length animations, Overwatch ended up influencing the community. By unveiling one of its characters as queer, it opened the door to making more unique content. Taking into account a person’s interests, traits and the like can bring forth more people by having more variety in themes in 3DX porn. Having this kind of inspiration can only continue to make the 3DX world bigger and better.
