As part of our haneto special we’ve managed to track down the man himself for an interview and ask him these few question. Take advantage of the chance to win a free copy of his upcoming work ‘Arche.01’ here.
Tell us a little about yourself. What do you do outside of 3DX?
Hello everyone. My name is Haneto, you can find my 3DX work on the Japanese web site pixiv.net. Apart from making 3DX, in my free time I watch movies and play games (PS3, computer games, etc) and on sunny days I ride my bicycle to distant places. Japan is a very nice place! If you are lucky, you might see a ninja lurking in the nearby trees 🙂
Where did the name Haneto come from?
The name Haneto comes from my hometown where there is a summer festival called “Nebuta Matsuri”. One of the main events of this festival is the performance of a traditional dance, and the people who dance during that event wear a unique type of costume called “haneto”. That’s the origin of the name.
How did you get started in 3DX? Do you have an artistic background? What was your journey to becoming an artist in the genre?
I decided to start making 3DX when I first saw the 3D virtual idol Yuki Terai in a magazine. I’ve been interested in 3DCG for quite a long time because I like playing computer games. Then, I decided to make my own 3DCG and this was in fact my first encounter with Poser but I started using that software to make renderings on a more regular basis only about 3 years ago. I have no artistic background, I just make the images the way I like them.
I’ve had the pleasure of checking out your new title called ‘Arche’. Fascinating to say the least. Your art style is both artistic (the frames look like they’ve been sampled from a high budget fantasy movie), yet it’s very sexually explicit, something that’s currently very unique. There is still the stigma that says art and porn don’t belong together, but you’re completely bucking the trend and proving they can mix extremely well. Is it a direction that you’ve specifically chosen to take and why?
I am very honored that you think so. I didn’t think much about that stigma when I made Arche but I must say that you are right. Indeed, the quickest way to express sexuality is to show the sexual act itself but there are other, probably more effective ways like showing how the character is reluctant to take her clothes entirely off her body because she is too shy, making the character pose with her face hidden but showing her tousled hair, or just showing her feminine curves without exposing much flesh. And, you could add even more erotic and at the same time artistic touch by changing the camera angle a bit. The images that I made are Full HD size which means that the use of space might contribute as well, just like in a movie. For example, moving the character a little bit to the left or right…I don’t know, it’s just an idle thought 🙂
So tell us about your title ‘Arche’. There are four distinct story lines. Can you tell us a little about each one of them and are they connected in anyway?
- The first scene shows a man who has found a sorceress lost in an old castle. Later he succumbs to her charms. I leave the rest to your imagination 🙂
- The second scene depicts girls only, the main character is shown being absorbed in her erotic thoughts in the beginning .
- The third scene shows a man on his way to fight a dragon. He is leaving an elf girl behind but not before he has tasted the full flavor of her body one more time because a fight with a dragon means that this night may turn out to be his last…
- The fourth one is a gravure/glamour scene with a woman dressed in a luxurious robe. She is gradually undressing and sort of showing off as though there were someone watching her…
What was your motivation behind creating this title and what do you want the viewer to get out of watching it?
I started working with Poser about 3 years ago, and with Arche I wanted to see how much experience I have gained since then. This is my first serious work and I feel that it may turn out to be the cornerstone of my future work. If the viewers enjoy watching the images, that will be great, that’s all I want from them.
Tell us about your main character. The sensual blonde. What is her name? Does she have a back story? What is she like as a person?
The character is the same in all scenes, that’s V4, only her hair is different. Her name, hmmm, I haven’t decided it yet but let’s call her “Amelie”…she is 18 years old, a devoted young lady….
How involved do you get with your characters? Do you create elaborate back stories for them? Are they more than just good looks? Do the male characters play as big a role compared to the female characters?
Regarding the characters, I just play with Victoria 4’s parameters until I get a result that I’m happy with. I look at her every day, for many days, trying to get a result that is closest to my ideal. When I make a scene, I imagine that it has been taken from a movie, so naturally I need to consider what happened before and after. Well, at least for me this way works well and makes things easy. As for the male characters, I think their role is equally important.
Who or what are your inspirations? Have there been specific artists, works or genres whether in 3DX or mainstream media which inspire you?
I think I have been greatly influenced by fantasy movies like “The Lord of the Rings” and games like “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim”, “Dragon’s Crown”, etc. Maybe this is the reason why my works tend to have an atmosphere of fantasy.
Tell us the process that goes into your works of art. What are your tools of the trade? What is your path from idea to the completed image?
Well, it’s quite simple, first I use PoserPro2014 and then Octane Render. In the future I would like to try making original hair and clothes with Blender and Marvelous Designer.
What is your stance on animation? Do you have plans of getting into animation yourself?
I am very interested in animation and I would like to try making some, if I have the time, of course.
How do you think 3DX will develop over the next 10 years?
I think that over the next 10 years technology will advance significantly and making 3D images will be easier. Who knows, perhaps there will be holographic images that you can touch and feel…sounds weird, but it will be wonderful if technology develops that far.
Do you have any advice you’d like to give to any aspiring artists?
Ah well, I am still a novice myself, there are so many things that I need to learn. I’ve been using Octane Render for just about 4 months and I think there is a lot of room for me to improve. I will be very happy if we can share and exchange information via internet forums.
What are you plans for the future? In terms of art projects or new titles you may be working on?
I’ve just completed my first commercial work and I still haven’t got any definite plans about my future work. As I already mentioned, I need to improve many aspects of my work. Once I get the knack of it, I want to make some videos as well. I am also thinking about making something more “modern”.
Any last words for our dear Affect3D readers?
I hope in the future I will improve my skills and make more attractive and glamourous girls. I will be very happy to show them to you.
Where can we find you online at?
You can find me on Pixiv and sometimes I post images on Deviantart as well, so please come and have fun! Thank you very much!

November 21, 2013Boom: I’m pretty sure Arche.01 is the first and only Bundle he ever made. So the only other pics you can find of the cover girl are the ones you can find on Pixiv.
There are further artworks of her there, but don’t expect a whole szene like in Arche.01. And they are censored.
Boom
November 12, 2013Does anyone know if he made a bundle of the cover girl in the article? Cause it seems like it. The girl looks awesome and I was wondering what it was.

November 3, 2013Is there any chance that we will see his “old” art from Pixiv uncensored one day? Would totally buy that, even though the censored versions are available for free.
There is so much great work there spoiled by censorship.

Probably the quickest to learn renderer to date 🙂
