Now this is an artist I’m delighted to put in the spotlight. I’ve been a big fan of DB Spencer’s for a long time. For me, an artist needs to have several key ingredients to catch my interest. It’s not a ranked list, nor a fixed set of things. But generally, I respond to technical skill, strong characters, and a clearly defined artistic signature. DB-Spencer checks all three boxes, and she does so with limited means, which makes her accomplishments even more notable.
DB-Spencer’s lighting is impeccable. Her render engine is Luxrender, unlike many artists who these days opt for the Iray engine. It helps her develop a unique look, where it doesn’t matter whether she renders interior or exterior shots. The lighting on her characters is perfect. Whether she creates artistic shots strong back-lighting and low front-lighting, or more glam shots with clear curvature definition, her work has a very professional feel to it.
Another strong quality of DB’s shots are her facial expressions. She’s not afraid to take risks with unconventional make-up. But whereas other artists draw your eyes to that, DB-Spencer’s characters engage you. Eyes are one of the strongest contributors to the uncanny valley effect, so mastering them and putting life in them is something you should never undervalue. DB-Spencer’s ladies can turn you on, even if they never get explicit. She knows what makes a girl attractive to both men and to women. She instills a magic in women that we sometimes forget we want to see, but are always very happy to find.
Making 3DX is one thing. Being a expert artist is something else altogether. DB-Spencer should be proud to call herself one.

February 23, 2017Oh yeah, I remember when I came across that set. It was right then when I knew that DB Spencer was not only a good artist, but rather a unique one with a marvelous personal touch. Is not only one thing, is everything altogether: scenery, posing, expressions, clothing, make-up, etc. She is always looking after the details until they build up into a spectacular set!
I hope the best for her. DB Spencer was actually one of the artist that inspired me into starting in 3DX, although “real life things” struck me down for the moment XD. There’s always the writting for me…
