It’s always sunny in 3DX land. Well, not always. Sometimes it’s just dark, or sweaty, or cold. But if there’s one thing the denizens of our digital landscapes rarely experience, it’s rain. Why? Well, because it’s such a bitch to render! If we’re the gods of the worlds we create, we’re sure as hell not almighty. But that doesn’t mean we can’t put in a valiant effort, and that’s what TweezeTyne most certainly did.
A gynoid is, as you might infer from the name, the female counterpart of an android. With that in mind as the title of this image, it’s hard to tell where the rain ends and the non-organic bodyparts begin. And that’s a nice touch, because it makes the character one with the scenery and the atmosphere and turns her expression into something you can believe. With her left hand half-submerged and her back curved as droplets bounce off her chest, it’s easy to think this is someone enjoying the sensation of water for the first time. And with it, she kind of represents a longing many of our 3DX characters feel.
Here’s to water!
