It’s Haneto Week! You know what that means? It means all week we’re putting a spotlight on one of the most talented eroticists in the 3DX world. Indeed, with Haneto you get erotica, not just porn. I’ve been a fan of his work for a long time. We’ve got plenty coming up from him for you this week. But I’m particularly happy with the shots I’m covering. Let’s get started, shall we?
One of the first things you’ll notice with Haneto is his heavy use of clothes and clothing accessories in his renders. Rarely will you find his girls fully nude. They’re almost always wearing something translucent, something silky or lacy to stimulate the imagination. His girls are often on their own, enjoying a quiet moment or touching themselves when they’re sure no one’s looking. And is there anything better at evoking a sense of erotica than a girl enjoying her own body?
Haneto’s also got an amazing talent for getting faces right. There’s a realism to them that goes beyond what you see in the work of most other artists, and it really brings his renders to life. They always make eye contact with the camera just right. Plus the ladies’ expressions always have a sense of delicacy to them that reflects in their overall appearance. It’s a perfect balance, and something that can only serve as an example and an inspiration for new artists starting out.
But there’s another interest point of note, if you stay tuned throughout this week. Haneto’s from Japan, and you can tell in the way the girls look. There’s a slight Final Fantasy-ish quality to their faces that makes sure that they’re not perfectly photorealistic. Instead, they’re stylistic versions of real faces. To call it an anime look is to do it a disservice, because the effect is far too nuanced. I think it’s one of the best subtleties I’ve seen in the 3DX trade.
Moreover, Haneto has got lighting down to perfection. There’s not a shot of his that I’ve seen where I felt that this or that area in the scene could’ve been better illuminated. Or where I felt that the girls had either too much or not enough lighting. Again, it comes back to balance. His environments range from complex rooms to photo studio settings like above, but everything always works out. To the best of my knowledge, Haneto creates his scenes in Poser and renders them in Octane; but I’ve not been able to verify that. Either way, you can ask Haneto himself at his DeviantArt page.
Check out Haneto’s DeviantArt and Pixiv pages, and stay tuned for the rest of the week, including an interview Friday!
