For a long time, humans have compared their value and the value of others and things to jewels. Based on how rare, how beautiful, and where they come from, jewels have a specific peerless quality to them. And some have so much value, we cannot put a price tag to them. Therefore, when we have something so valuable to us that it is priceless, it’s often we call it a jewel.
Metaphorically, a person would be like a jewel that no one has ever seen before. Something so unique, only you might be able to see that beauty. More often, we place the title of “jewels” and their metaphorical value on a man’s balls. They are his pleasure center, biologically what makes him a man and often his most important item. The irony of that comes when you realize that traditionally women wear jewelry.
ThePaperTiger’s Jewels of Her Majesty highlights the contrast between this jewel of a woman and her crown of rubies. Which one is more respected? Which is more valuable to her people? For me, I believe it is her that gives those jewels on her head value. She boldly fills out her ceremonial garb and stands still as the wind caresses her body. It takes a powerful woman to stand underneath man’s most treasured form of currency and not let it outshine her. Instead, her heavy breasts and kissable red lips stand to welcome us to her island paradise, where time has stopped and she is a god to her people.
