Aphrodite is the Greek goddess of love, beauty, pleasure and procreation. Throughout the years her depiction in art exudes a sensual charm by emphasizing her soft curves and voluptuousness.
However, this beautiful goddess wasn’t always shown nude. It wasn’t until the fourth century BCE when a sculptor by the name of Praxiteles made a naked Aphrodite and created a new tradition for the female nude. He created her with idealized proportions much like Greek male athletic statues. His sculpture contained narrative and erotic possibilities.
Sexuality tends to go hand in hand with feminine beauty. It’s not so much of who you are as opposed to what you look like underneath. You visualize sexual acts when you see a woman nude. The curves of her body and the shape of her breasts among other attributes help aid one in imagining what she would feel/taste like. The idea of “look but don’t touch” can make a sexual encounter even more worthwhile. More importantly, a woman can play up her sexuality with only her body and nothing more. She can present her body in a way that would make you want her and only her.
This depiction of Aphrodite by x3xDx is similar to that of ancient Greece. She is baring it all while making sure to not make eye contact. The focus is all on her body. Her slight curves and her perfectly round breasts is enough to make anyone fall on their knees. With someone this stunning, I wouldn’t want to look at anyone else.
