July 17 – Answers to some questions

So I wanted to go over the more questions regarding the content, payment methods, etc.

What are the minimum system requirements for Girlfriends 4 Ever?

Hard to say, but the high bit rate of the video clips require a machine that’s not too old, particularly in full screen mode. If some people on older machines are finding the playback choppy I can make a lower bit rate version available.

What sort of prepaid cards or gift cards can I use?

The prepaid debit card or store gift card must bear the visa or mastercard logo. If that’s the case you should be good to go. Itunes gift cards or any other gift cards won’t work! You can purchase prepaid or gift card preloaded with funds at big retailers, post offices, etc in your area.

What will the statement on my credit card say?

For items purchased in the Affect3D store, which is the preferred method, it will read ‘Zombaio.com’, which isn’t all that attention grabbing. We’ll also make an alternate download available which will read ‘WWW.BMTMICRO-INFO.COM 910-792-9100 NC’, doesn’t get more discrete than that 🙂

Steps we’ve taken to alleviate some of the performance issues/ down time caused during the trailer release.

There won’t be a set release time, this time round, that should provide for much more distributed traffic. We’ve also significantly upgraded server capacity and setup a CDN called Cloudflare. You may have noticed occasional Cloudflare branded error messages saying the site is offline. Clicking the blue button usually fixes the issue, but if anyone notices these errors more than once or other unusual behavior, post a comment about it.

July 15 – The price for Girlfriends 4 Ever is $25!

I’ve been thinking about a fair price for some time and I think $25 is the sweet spot. Image sets are selling at around the $10 mark and Umemaro, Double Cream Soft type of works had been until recently around $35. I see mine definitely in the middle in terms of content hence the $25. What payment methods will be available? At release we’ll have the following payment methods available: Credit Card, Debit Card, Pre Paid and Gift Cards. I’ve been getting a lot of requests for Paypal, but unfortunately we cannot offer this payment method, because they currently have a policy against adult content. We’re looking into Bitcoin, but it’s unlikely to be set up by the time we go live. There’s a good chance we’ll be accepting Bitcoin in future though. So for those who have an aversion to Credit Cards I’d suggest to go with a Prepaid Debit Card or Gift Card. No actual credit so no credit checks and you can purchase the card at retailers like Walmart, Safeway, etc and online. Also ideal if you need to keep things private and your little secret. How will I buy and download Girlfriends 4 Ever? We’re about to open our brand spanking new store, so you can have a good trial run before the 20th. The checkout is easy and intuitive. Just wait for the store opening and you can have a look around for yourself 🙂 The cool news is that although we’re starting out with just Affect3D content, we’ll soon offer more goodies from many of the best 2D + 3D artists around. July 10 – More G4E details and fun stuff 🙂

I have a completed build!!! That’s with two rounds of tweaking the entire title. One more and I think we’re ready 😀 Some more G4E details: The total download size is approx 1.2 GB! I’m pretty sure I could have squeezed to under 1GB, but you guys wanted high bit rates, so that’s what you’re getting 🙂  I timed a play through of the main story and it’s just under 20 mins long. I also timed the fun stuff scenes, which aren’t supposed to be played together since they’re all separate sex scenes, but just to get an idea… it timed in at around 7 mins. So total play time is around 27 mins. As I said there are 5 cut scenes which play like little clips and come with a time slider (no speed slider). When you hit the sex scenes they’re setup up to loop a few times before moving on to the next angle, but of course you can loop an individual angle, position, change the speed, jump to a specific scene… all that good stuff 🙂 The fun stuff includes 12 experiments ranging from the inevitable slightly larger boobies to other things you’ve seen in the trailer like xray (the non gory version), both Tara and Sayako masturbating, a couple of positions taken on a 360 ride, 3D vision, nude walk also Ahegao, no balls Sayako, really vascular cock and more. These scenes are not story related so anything goes 🙂 Also got a some interesting suggestions from you guys, may be able to explore some of those in future. To give u just a little bit more time:

July 8 – Some answers re the G4E content!

Ok so no release date just yet. Still working on some minor details. I’ll announce the release date as soon as G4E is complete 🙂  Thanks for all the great feedback so far!  So glad to see you guys are excited as I am about the release of ‘Girlfriends 4 Ever‘. Can’t wait!!!

Get your contest entries in – only 2 days remaining!!!

In the meantime some content details/ clarifications: There is NO free camera! Sorry to those who misread the trailer. I couldn’t possibly afford a game engine high tech enough to produce this quality in real time at this stage, heh. So yeah, everything is pre rendered! On the upside yours truly is responsible for all the camera work and as you know I like to get the juiciest, sexiest shots of the action, covering a variety of angles including POV shots, 360 views, etc. So there are 4-5 angles per position and you have direct control. Keep in mind this is a 3D set and 3D sets are live sets. So if you guys want more angles and positions we can add them after release, I’ve specifically set it up in a way that lends itself to those kind of updates. There’s also a bonus, which I’ll talk about later. The lip syncing isn’t perfect. Well it just so happens that the parts I needed for the trailer weren’t the best syncs other parts work better (but not all). There’s also a little story to that. As you know this is my first complete animated work and as it turned out my lip syncing approach wasn’t the best. Basically I did the animation first including facial expressions using a computer generated voice, then rendered the finals and later got the voice actresses to say the lines. And well as it turns out real humans don’t use the same intonation and speech flow as robots, heh, plus there were some script changes. Considering the animations had already been rendered I had to piece things together as best I could. So using the actual voices for creating the lip sync will yield much better results in future 🙂 The screen shot of the 5 positions you see in the trailer was made with an incomplete pre beta version of the software. There are in fact a total 7 sex positions, 5 cut scenes and 12 fun stuff positions. The positions come with multiple angles, which you can easily switch, loop by angle or loop all angles of a position and of course you can create your own playlist. All angles went through rigorous fap testing, so if the angle wasn’t “paint the wall in white” worthy it didn’t make the cut. Not everyone’s going to like every angle but I’m confident the variety will cover the tastes of even the most discerning 3DX lover 🙂   Up next either release date or fun stuff details! [Click here to leave a comment]

The trailer is almost here! Next time I post it’s with the trailer in hand. All I ask is that you treat it with care just like the many generations before you. G4E’s Anal Surprise Animation Tests

Ah yes, the winning anal pose. Have to admit I love this pose, the way Tara’s got her ass up in the air at just the right angle for Sayako to pound her deep and hard and make use of the full length of her throbbing cock. G4E sound editing

I thought I’d skipped an extremely important step in my workflow summary, being the sound editing. Here’s a screenie of the audio assembly. I’ve talked about the voice over several times but it’s with the sound edit that everything comes together: the final video edit, the voice over, sound effects like slappage, sucking, slurping, moaning and all the other beautiful audio cues that cause the sausage monster to awaken from slumber and where appropriate music. All the sex scenes will be raw audio of the girls fucking – the way it should be! I should probably grab an audio sample, but it’s way past my bedtime so I’ll save that for the HD animation preview 🙂 The final edit is close to completion 😀 Almost done with all the cut scenes, after that it’s just the sex scenes, but there’s a lot less work left to do there 🙂 Up next probably the winner animation tests! 🙂 [Click here to leave a comment]

The winning G4E position – anal surprise pose preview

Keep in mind a year ago my rendering rig wasn’t nearly as decent as it is today, as a matter of fact initial rendering tests cost me approx 4+ hrs per frame… yes that’s for each and every frame, in other words a minute of animation would have taken approx 5760 hours or a measly 34 weeks, lol! Of course I tackled the scene from every possible angle and optimized every little detail from materials, lighting, poly count, lots and lots of render setting fine tuning, camera angles and more than thrice the horsepower to finally get the render duration down to days instead of weeks 😀 So the 1080p version is not a matter of reducing the download size, it’s because the original renders are 720p (1280 x 720). In any case 720p is still HD and looks great even at 1920 x 1080 (my screen resolution) and it’s also workable for most with less up to date systems. Up next the G in G4E! 🙂 [Click here to leave a comment]

G4E video editing

I’m still mostly working on video & sound editing (see screenies) and I’ve now begun assembling the release build of the product, yay!! I think I’ve talked about the video editing before. This is the final part of the process before video encoding. Steps involved to reach this point include scene setup, posing, animation, camera and lighting, tons and tons and tons of animation, pose, camera, lighting and material fixes and rendering. Took me a while to work out the best encoding method, but I think I’ve found a decent balance between quality and file size now. I’m limited to flv for the most part which limits my options. Typically 1 min of original footage is about 5 gigs in size. At high bit rate 720p HD video I’m bringing that down to about 70mb, which is a good compromise I think. Closed beta begins

Ok, the beta is up and running, still a few bugs to iron out, but we’re on our way to finalizing the last piece of the puzzle. Other than getting the beta kick started today, I’ve worked on the final edit, sound and voice. Moaning I thought was going to be straightforward, but as it turns out it was anything but. Moaning is an art unto itself, I tells ya and I think I mentioned before, I went over a dozen voice submissions before I was able to settle on a couple. So yesterday you saw the HD version of this animation. Here’s how the animation looks like when I’m the process of creating it. Pretty unattractive compared to the final, isn’t it? In other words you need a good amount of imagination to visualize how it will turn out. I actually picked the wrong position because usually there’s a good visual progression to show. But anyway it starts out a rough and very messy and jittery and then I work on all the body parts from every angle to get to the final animation fairly smooth and realistic. On average I render approx 200+ of these tests till I get the animation right, so it takes a good while for me 🙂 I think I’ve said this before sex positions are the most amazing thing to animate. I just can’t get enough of it 😀 The more positions you explore and the more you learn about animation, cinematography, lighting, mood, etc, etc the more ideas you get that need to be explored. With G4E I kept adding angles/ positions/ scenes and had several more on the list, but inevitably I had to draw the line somewhere and whilst I’m far from happy about the things I had to cut I think there’s a good amount that did make it and hope you guys will enjoy 😀 Up next another world view!!! Ok fine I will keep the dev vids to a minimum and I’ll spare you my boring ‘how to make an animation videos’!! But before we get to that the first dev video showed off the dev of the default cock model which is about 12 inches I believe. In this second part I detailed the cock model for Tara’s Evil Nuns character.

I think a lot of newcomers may not be aware of my old development updates in the forum, so i wanted to share some of the old dev videos I made during production. I’ll intersperse them with old and current animations though to keep things fresh for the longtimers 🙂 Development actually spans 3 titles, it started out as Evil Nuns, which originally involved 3 dick girls, but with my intention to create a fully animated title I eventually realized this was going to be an impossible endeavor as a first release (now I’m a lot more comfortable adding multiple characters) so I made the switch to Tara’s Assignment 3 (this was the real reason), which narrowed things down to just 2 characters: Sayako and Tara. This eventually turned out to be but a working title for the current “Girlfriends 4 Ever”. So to prepare the girls for their very first adventure a lot of preparation was needed, because the Daz figures, to put it simply are unusable for sex animations by default. Very little effort has gone into all the important bits, so my work involved creating proper bend morphs especially around the hip, pussy and butt areas as well as MET – Mouth extension technology, which not only catered for very large insertions 😀 but also movement morphs like lips moving inwards when the cock enters and outwards when Sayako withdraws 🙂 I also sculpted, textured and rigged three new figures including Sayako/ Tara’s pussy, Sayako’s balls and Sayako’s cock. The attached video shows the first part of the zbrush sculpting process of what at the time was Evil Tara’s cock, which became the default cock model and later the basis for Sayako’s cock morph. (Right-Click ‘Save As’ To Download) So this update is from the recent sequence I’ve been working on, it’s still rendering, but here’s a small snippet. Don’t worry about the hair! A little G4E preview!

Good news! I have just started rendering my last animation sequence!!! G4E update

Since this is a diary I should probably talk about what I’m actually working on, on occasion 🙂 Well today was a productive day. I’m currently working on finalizing my very last animation! Yay! See attached screen shot. Finalizing an animation always involves a loooooooooooot of cleanup work. I generally don’t get to fine tune the animation until I’ve done a ‘final test’ render, meaning the final animation, lighting and camera work is completed. The ‘final test’ render isn’t all that final either, because it always uncovers imperfections in terms of the mesh, the animation, expressions, camera, etc. Each ‘test render’ typically takes half a day to render even at low quality settings, so I need to try and get everything right as much possible. And still I always end up doing 3 or 4 of these ‘final test’ renders. Granted in the later rounds I can usally part render, which allivates the ‘final test’ render wait time to a degree.

How did you guys like the old test renders so far??? I’ve got a bunch more so let me know if you want to see more or if you want to know more about the animation workflows I employ and G4E specific updates? Let me know in the comments below.

The mesh hair was way too inflexible for use in animations. That’s why I replaced both Sayako’s and Tara’s hair with short versions also Tara’s pony tale was far easier to turn into dynamic hair vs this full body of hair 😀

The good old days

First of all I’ve moved the story entry down a couple of days, instead lets get started with some animations 🙂 Since I’ve never actually shown any of my old animations I thought I may as well put them out there now before we get to the G4E good stuff. Keep in mind these are old animations and in no way reflect the quality of what’s included with G4E, every aspect has been dramatically improved since then!

I started playing around with animations back in 2008 but at the time I was just messing around so lets forget about that. I got serious after ‘Sex Addiction’ you could say, back in 2011 making just little sex animation loops at the time. For those familiar with some of the sets from back then may recognize some of the scenes I’ll be showing you over the next days. So this little clip in particular was created in Aug 2011. I know that’s an extremely low count for a 3DX artist, but I guess I spend way too much time detailing the characters and finding things to tweak. One key reason for doing this though is that it makes it easier to give the characters a backstory and some personality. Granted that area still needs work, but the potential is there. In general fewer characters also means more attention can be dedicated per character, in terms of work but also air time which makes S/Ayako and Tara stay in people’s minds more, I think. Obviously with animation and voice you can take that idea to a whole new level, really shape a character and make them more memorable. I think there’s even potential to take that a step further, have their main storyline, but also act out parts in other titles. So in this title Sayako’s curious but reserved (at first) and in Evil Nuns she could play a strong dominant character. I don’t think a 3d character has to act out just one role, just like an actor takes on different roles in real life, so too could a busty virtual girl 🙂 Going back a little, Sayako made her first appearance in ‘Sex Addiction’ at the time she was just a regular girl and really enjoying her sister’s company as well as Ayako’s boyfriend in a threesome.

So anyway, my idea for Tara was to create a bright, intelligent girl with a modelesque physique and a knack for fitness. She’s got everything going for her but is still very much down to earth and very approachable. Pretty much the type of girl who would never do porn in real life!

Tara made her first “appearance” in ‘Ayako – the blow job’ or ‘Sex Addiction’ I can’t remember exactly, but I think there was a mention of her being Ayako’s room mate. That was around the time we kicked off the Affect3D Forum and a great opportunity to work on Tara based on feedback from the Affect3D community. Tara started out as this bizarre Alien creature from planet Cyclotron (yes that’s how ugly she looked – do NOT go looking) but thankfully over time she managed to shape into her current human form and is pretty damn hot now… in my slightly biased opinion of course, haha 😀

Why I like dickgirls

About the teaser – Part3

So about the alternate voice over! I had done a test, which I’m very brave for posting here :)…  it’s easy to tell why it didn’t stand up to the final VO, in fact it sounds a bit like a bloopers reel now, lol. Have to consider that’s it’s just an early test take though, so not as cohesive as final take would have been. But anyway the ending before the music kicks in is awesome though, don’t you think, haha 😀

Obviously the current version is a lot more refined and ending in ‘Ever’ came from the title Girlfriends 4 Ever, worked well I think 🙂

As for the voice overs I’d been working with Marie since Sex Addiction, so she was pretty much a given and voiced Tara really well, as you can tell from the teaser. I “auditioned” about 6 or 7 other girls for possible Tara, Sayako roles as well the sex scenes and ended up with 2 (so 3 all up). I am currently working on adding voice to all the sex scenes, which is awesome, cause a real voice adds another dimension to the 3D characters and really brings them to life 🙂 Can’t wait for you to hear them!

Girlfriends 4 Ever stays!!

The FINAL title Poll!

I’ve narrowed it down to two final two names 😀

Thanks for all the great suggestions, but in the end I decided to stick with the girlfriend theme, stubborn as I am 🙂 There was an interesting line of thinking, the one worders like secret, desire, etc. The reason I don’t think it will work  for this release is that whilst there are romantic/ artistic aspects to this work once Tara gives Sayako a hard-on it’s really non-stop sex until the end sequence, so I think the ‘fuck till you drop’ aspect definitely still dominates.

Why ‘Girlfriends 4 Ever’? Couple of reasons for one, saying they’re girlfriends immediately makes the relationship more intimate than just platonic sex, nothing against plus forward fucking, but that wasn’t the only thing I was going for here. 4 Ever strengthens the bond further and gives the whole thing a younger undertone, considering the girls are in their early twenties.

Why ‘My Girlfriend’s Secret’? There were many suggestions using the word ‘Secret’ some got very close for me, but I think adding girlfriend qualifies who the target of our investigations actually is 🙂 The word ‘Secret’ is great, because it immediately raises questions and entices to dig deeper and it plays well with Sayako’s actual little… or should I say fucking huge secret 😀 So you have both the girlfriend aspect and intrigue, but there’s is one problem: ‘My Girlfriend’s Secret’ is ambiguous, it could be a guy referring to this girl friend, so you actually have to know who the characters are to really get it.

About the teaser – Part2

So back to the teaser, I had the idea of the girls making an entrance and the walk, but how to make it interesting? That’s when it came to me, since this was my first animated title and also the first time I’d shown any of it publically, why not start the scene completely frozen and have the characters slowly move and transition to full speed as a way of broadcasting my transition from still to animation… I know I totally overthink these things, haha 😀 😀

But there was one element missing: music! Music can play a big part in carrying a mood or emotion and I wanted more than the cheesy saxophone ditty :P, so me and my girl friend started browsing several stock music sites to find the right track, with little success at first. Don’t know who came across it first, but when we hit the teaser tune as you hear it now, we instantly agreed, that’s the one! It starts off slow and subdued allowing the narration to dominate but then has this amazing build up and power sequence mid way: perfect!

Ok, looks like we’ll have to move the voice over to a part3. This is going to be interesting, cause I’ll show off the alternate script that didn’t make it into the final cut! And tomorrow we’ll decide on the title!

About the teaser – Part1

Early on, working on this title I had pictured creating a teaser and trailer for it like they do for movies. The idea of building up interest before the release seemed like something that would translate well for my first animated title. So around December I believe, I started fleshing out some ideas. My first idea was very different, still with Tara narrating, but the visuals were a simple pan around Sayako’s “features” as Tara describes them. I might post the alternate script in one of my next updates, which still almost made the final cut.

But a month or so later when I actually started working on it, I remembered I had this walk that I created very early on in development. At the time I was so proud of it, it took almost a week to animate, and it was the first walk I had been happy with, but in the end I hadn’t actually found any use for in the set. So then I got the idea of having the girls making an entry into the scene of the action 🙂 Simple concept but I think it worked out perfectly for how I wanted the teaser to play out eventually!

Speaking of walking: In Girls4EverI’ve added a sexy nude walk, which is Sayako, with less and less clothing (and none at all) strutting her stuff front & side. Starting the Release Diary today!! 😀

Well I don’t want to turn the wait into a lengthy boring nothingness, so will keep things interesting with this little release diary idea I had. What it is, is little updates every other day about my final steps towards the release. Topics I’d like to cover are little stories about my adventure into animation, maybe discuss some of the technical aspects, preview frames of the actual animations, yes – some animations from the title (maybe scaled down a little :), gif loops, interesting news about the release internally and from outside sources, freebies, promo stuff and of course the trailer (which has gotten approval by a3d staff, so I’m very excited to show it off soon!). Anything you want to know, let me know in the comments below!! There is no release date as yet, I should have one by the time the trailer is revealed! Yes!! It’s finally happening!!! The elusive Tara’s Assignment 3‘, now tentatively titled ‘Girlfriends 4 Ever‘, is in the final stages of development! Check out this little teaser as proof! As always I’ve gone way over the top, but hey I had too much fun doing it! To be clear this is just a teaser, ‘Girlfriends 4 Ever‘ trailer is done and I’ll show it off soon.
