After releasing two of their titles (Ghost Humper and Toothless In Seattle) in the store, we thought it would be a good idea to speak with the team at 3DGSpot to see what’s been going on since the last time we interviewed them. Here’s what we found out!
It’s been a while since we last spoke with you guys. How have you and your team been since then?
We’ve been great and very excited since we have completely switched to the 3DX industry. We finally took the plunge and veered away from Hollywood and the video game industry.
Earlier this year, you hit the mobile market with the release of Stroker@Zuzu. Can you tell us a little bit about the app and how this project came together? Was there any difficulty with creating a mobile app?
Zuzu @ Stroker is the first of several interactive games we are creating for both mobile and PC. Zuzu loves candy and the player happens to have entered her home. To keep from being kicked out the player wore a “Piggybear” mask which Zuzu came to erotically adore.
Creating the app took some time due to our previous mainstream projects but the idea simply came from our desire to create a 3DX mobile games. We are also creating a browser game version of the Stroker line which will be updated frequently plus a VStroker and a VR version.
How has the community responded to this new venture? Do you think we’ll see a future in mobile apps for the 3DX market?
The response has been very positive and has excited us in creating more. We expect to see much more mobile apps for the 3DX market, especially in the interactive and VR categories. We plan to create 3 more Strokers this year.
As more 3DX artists continue to go for realism, you’re consistent in maintaining a cartoony approach. What motivates you to do that? Do you ever feel pressured to do a most realistic style?
Actually, no one has ever asked us to create realistic characters. Realistic characters are great, but doesn’t interest us as much as “stylistic” characters. Action, expressions, eroticism, style and scenarios can be expressed so much more with stylistic characters rather than realistic ones. Like “hentai,” our characters receive a large fan base and we are happy to always be told that whenever they see one of our characters they immediately know it’s from 3dgspot.
I notice some of your works push the boundaries of 3DX. Ghosts, androids, catgirls, even a bathroom stall got in on the action! First off, how do you come up with this stuff? Do you ever go “Well, that’s too far” when working on a project?
So far the only thing that makes us say “Well, that’s too far” is due to “effort”. At times the scene or story would require so much intensive labor that we have to compromise and bring down the scope of the project. As long as what we are creating has a general sexual appeal while pushing some sort of boundary at the same time, we’re happy.
For scenarios, we start with environment first (Post-apocalyptic, store depot, college, scifi, undead, etc.) Then we decide in this order: Characters, emotion(drama, horror, comedy), props and sexual positions. There’s more but those are the main points we explore when creating a new series.
When it comes to your titles, one of the common things is I hear people wanting to see more Doppleganger. They just love her! Can you tell us when can we expect to see more of the sexy android?
Doppelganger Alpha is almost done and we have started on Doppelganger Beta. We’re hoping to get more funding to acquire more equipment to create movies faster but at the moment the story and Dop Beta characters are designed and being created.
What else will we expect to see in the future from 3DGspot?
More characters, more videos, more mobile and pc interactive games, true erotic games, VR and Vstroker.
For someone looking into becoming a 3DX artist, what advice would you like to give them?
There are so much opportunities in 3DX but not in a corporate level. More so at an individual level unless you are willing to work in Japan but the salaries there are not very competitive. It is important to learn from invaluable sources like affect3d and other possible industry colleagues on how to spread your good work.
Where can we find you and how can people support your work?
We can always be found in 3dgspot.com, Affect3d.com and Mikandi.com.
We just started another project for a Zuzu PC port on our Patreon as well!
