February 18, 2015I am a professional web designer and can see the changes that have been made. They are excellent, especially the responsive design and the main navigation tabs. Really well done team. thumbs up from Exc!

February 17, 2015It looks a lot like the previous one so I don’t really love it or hate it, I’m pretty neutral about the change I guess. It looks good though so I don’t really have any complaints. One thing I should mention though is that the big advertisement banners up top loaded the first time but every other time I’ve checked it’s just been blank: http://i.imgur.com/bPvRXq1.jpg

February 18, 2015the issue with the banner may have been because the old css was still cached (Ctrl+F5 to clear)
if it continues to be an issue let us know

February 17, 2015Great Restoration suitable for this type of web site!
but what about the problems related to the resolution of the monitor or to the slow loading, where we are?
miro
February 18, 2015the font size is on the todo list, variations in width for huge screen sizes likely further down the track

February 16, 2015Design is certainly more “cool looking”, but I have two main problems with the new site:
a) The two column design makes articles looks scatter all over the place
b) Font does NOT scale with resolution. I am using QHD monitor (2560×1440 resolution) and the font is teeny-tiny, see for yourself (click the image for full res): http://postimg.org/image/htir9ypdj/
I consider the font issue as bigger out of the two, because I have to zoom in to be able to read the text somewhat easily. I cant even image what it must be like on a 4K screen, probably utter unreadable hell.

February 16, 2015good points
re a) well columns adjust themselves depending on the content, so the variation in height can make it more/ less scattered, I personally like the 2 column look, make take a little getting used, we tried the 1 column but it looked a little bland, run with it for a while and see if grows on you ๐
re b) have the same resolution and I don’t mind it, the content area is quite a bit bigger than the old actually, the fixed width style allows for better control of the layout especially for articles and such, but I’m thinking we’ll consider extending the fixed size for larger sizes like 1440p and 4k, the font size we may be able to address now though, will look into that (I like small font, cause it fits more ๐ … but I can see how it may be too small for the general visitor)

February 16, 2015Just noticed one now – it would be nice if one could see the number of comments under each article right on the main page (at the moment there is just date and the author). This way you would not need to keep many tabs opened in case you posted a comment on more articles – you could just refresh the main page and look whether the number of comments has changed. It’s not a deal breaker, but I just feel it could help me and maybe there are other people who see it that way as well.

February 18, 2015the comments num on home page is also on the todo list ๐

February 16, 2015design is good but its a bit confusing for new visitors. Also the new store release image is too small that it hardly make impact to the viewer, lettering covered too much over the image…

February 16, 2015simply said, no focus area, information is scattered all over the page. i don’t know where should I read first

February 16, 2015good feedback, the new layout takes a while to get used to, we tried the single column but it seemed a little bland for a home page, I’ll see if we can make the first post span 2 cols though, that may be a good compromise
we’ll also color code by category, see it’s easier to scan for similar content
