We have some good news for you today if you were excited by the news in our last post with Digital Seductions. We spoke to the creators behind World of Peach and Cockwork Industries again recently and here’s what they had to say about their upcoming game, Countess in Crimson.
Astaroth: “We’ve finished most of the UI and underlying engine work and begun preparing the narrative content for the game (images, animations and coding dialogues).’
“Since Countess in Crimson is venturing more into visual novel territory than Cockwork Industries did, and as such will feature a higher amount of images to tell the story, we decided we want to make those static images more appealing and breathe some life into them. After some experimentation, we’ve come up [with] a way to create ‘motion images’ that will serve that purpose and we’re quite happy how it turned out.’
“Finally, a pre-emptive response to the obligatory ‘when will it release?’ question – we still don’t know for sure. All I can say is that our development schedule is moving forward more or less as planned. We also recently received an unwelcome tax-related incentive to finish the game as quickly as possible so that should help speed things up a bit 🙂.”
